They tried to officially start the school year again on this Monday morning. The teachers were all there, but only 55 students were able to come. Last year, they ended the school year with 400 students. At the first of September, 200 students were enrolled. But it was sure sweet to see the kids in their new uniforms and so excited about being in school! To hear their voices in the classrooms reciting lessons in French, Kindergarten through 8th grade, is so great!

On Tuesday, September 24, the country shut down again, as requested by those in charge of the demonstrations. It was too dangerous to try to go back and forth between the Vaval’s Family Inn and the church, so we stayed at the Inn and spent a lot of time praying and working on things that we could do with the kids the next few days, Lord willing.

So Wednesday and Thursday both held sweet times just relaxing, playing and visiting with the kids, since school was cancelled once again. We were all rather surprised as to how calm everything was, not only within the church campus walls, but also outside the walls … felt like a God-thing.
